Sony Ericsson T610 Review: As well as being tri-band, WAP, GPRS and HSCSD high-speed data, the new Sony Ericsson T610 introduces QuickShare - a pioneering technology for speedy photos allowing an easier and faster way to share images with family and friends. With the help of the imaging capabilities in the Sony Ericsson T610, pictures can be shared between phone, PC and other consumer devices, either locally over Bluetooth or cable, or across the mobile phone networks with email or MMS. With the 65,536 large colour screen you not only get an additional row of icons on the main menu, as well as time, date, signal, battery life and mail but the large screen also gives you the chance to view more text and is ideal when viewing WAP pages.
This camera phone also incorporates a 'night mode' function that improves the quality of phones taken in low light although Sony Ericsson will soon be releasing a clip-on flash unit for night snappers! The camera also has a self-timer facility and a mirror that can be attached on the back of the phone for self-portraits. The tri-band Sony Ericsson T610 features a new user interface with 12 animated icons with rich colours, which further adds to the ease of use of QuickShare. The hotlinks in the menu give direct access to services and functions such as downloable games and with excellent graphics and polyphonic ringtones, the Sony Ericsson T610 supports Java and Mophun platforms for the downloable games and also offers the chance of playing games with other users via Bluetooth wireless technology.
Other standard features of the Sony Ericsson T610 include WAP, GPRS and HSCSD for high-speed data, built-in phonebook with 510 spaces, vibrate alert, voice dial, T9 predictive texting, linking ringtones to calls, voice recorder, games via two gaming platforms and 32 melodious polyphonic ringtones. The Sony Ericsson T610 also features a unique Music DJ melody composer, which lets you mix different blocks of music to create your own ringtone. You can then choose to use this 'personally made' ringtone and attach it to individual contacts in your phone book or alternatively use it as your main ringtone. This is a new type of technology that's never been used in a mobile. The built T9 predictive texting on this new handset has also been updated to include common 'text speaking' words such as "gr8" ideal for texters who don't use 'proper' words.
